Homemade outdoor wood furnace cheep heat
To build the unit I used a 30 pound propane bottle as the boiler tank I drilled a hole in the side and welded on some pipes and fitted it into an old oil drum I have added the output and return lines, reserve bottle, blow off valves, water pump, heater core and of course coolant. I have used it twice now and it works so well I can’t even believe it, no problems I still have some more work to do on the system insulating and covering the drum with tin. I just like to add that this thing hasn’t cost me anything to build and most materials you can find at a local dump or could buy from a junk yard at very low cost I will keep everyone updated on how this thing works in the cold months of are Canadian winters.
